Please ensure that your water filters can remove Arsenic!

What you should know about Arsenic in drinking water?

It is very dangerous to human’s health if arsenic exists in drinking water.
Arsenic is one of the most prevalent elements that threaten the safety of drinking water in our society. The current US drinking water standard limits arsenic to no more than 0.010mg/L. Arsenic can be in either the pentavalent form or the trivalent form while the latter is more harmful to humans. Arsenic can be difficult to detect in water and can only be detected in the laboratory.
There are a few steps to take if there is arsenic present in your water supply. Trivalent arsenic is the most difficult contaminant to filter in drinking water. Mist water treatment technologies are only certified to reduce arsenic 5. It may be necessary to add chlorine to the water so it will oxidize the trivalent arsenic to the pentavalent form. After the conversion, the pentavalent arsenic can then be removed via filters or reverse osmosis systems. Make sure the water treatment systems are certified by NSF to effectively and safely reduce arsenic o either 0.01mg/L. Changing filters for the water purifier as instructed by the manufacturer is vital to ensure effective water treatment.
